Who does not know the famous traveler Baron Munchausen? Who has not been drawn by his stories into that fairy-tale world, where the most incredible adventures take place at every step? But it turns out that the hero of these exceptional stories Baron Carl Friedrich Hieronymus Munchausen lived in reality and belonged to an old German noble family. He was a military man, served in the Russian army, and, returning to his homeland, became famous as a clever storyteller. It is not known whether he wrote down his stories himself or someone else, but in 1781 some of them were printed. And in 1875 the German writer E. Raspe processed and published them. The fame of the famous baron became so great that many people began to retell his stories in their own way, but the author of the book is considered to be E. Raspe. This book includes those stories that the Baron himself told in a friendly circle.
