The novel "Time Regained" is the final book in the seven-volume cycle by Marcel Proust (1871-1922). The author's many years of observation of contemporary French society are over, and only now does he explain through the mouth of his protagonist why he recorded the feelings and experiences of his characters in such detail. The author transferred the feeling of the flow of life into the fictional text in order to catch the fleeting time. The past is contained in images colored with feelings. Thus, when a person sees an old porcelain cup from which he once drank milk for breakfast, he feels the freshness of a long-ago morning and the hope for a good day. And the image of a forgotten face can cause pain, resurrecting the feeling of loss and disappointment. And yet, sorting through these images in memory, colored with light and dark tones, one can regain lost time.
The previous novels of the cycle "In Search of Lost Time" were previously published in the same series.
