The book is devoted to very effective elements of warfare today - actions in cyberspace. Wars of "traditional formats" are costly, involve the risk of combat losses, and are criticized not only by other countries but also by the majority of citizens of the state initiating the conflict. In contrast, cyber warfare is not only the use of the Internet to inflict damage on the enemy, but also the use of communications, command and control systems, the latest military technologies, means of communication, as well as propaganda and disinformation in social networks. Although the concept of "cyber warfare" is not defined in international law, the U.S. has had Cyber Command for more than 10 years, with specialized units conducting virtual operations around the world, and their intensity is increasing. Russia has also become a target of American cyberattacks, which is confirmed officially. The book describes in detail all levels of cyber warfare - legal and political aspects, doctrines and strategies, technologies and techniques. Special attention is given to the structural components of U.S. Cyber Command, including drones, virtual control panels, artificial intelligence, neurotechnology, and more. U.S. military-industrial complex contractor task orders and DARPA agency programs are reviewed. Attention is paid to the practical experience of the U.S. and NATO in conducting cyber operations against various actors, as well as the actions of mercenary hackers.
