The city lives under a Dome. Outside, there's irreversibility, inside, attempts to preserve the familiar. The former hotel building now houses a Center where psychologists teach people to breathe when they can't breathe anymore, and to speak when they have nothing left to say.

Alice, tired of protesting but still not ready to give up, comes to the Center to "remember the dream" in which humanity can still fix everything. Fyodor and Theo share a body and can't agree on how to live their remaining time: according to plan or for love. Consultant Margo tries to maintain a professional distance, but increasingly feels she needs support herself. A boy, Luka, goes to school without classes and searches for a City map with directions home. The Minister of Resettlement advocates for those "not quite citizens." And the Mayor, a man with good intentions, is afraid of his own awkwardness and being touched by others.

This is a chamber novel-parable about death without pathos, about loss of control, about internal resistance and slow acceptance. A text full of breath, light, and warmth, for those who want to understand what happens to us when it's too late to change—but we can still be there.
