These five-tank tanks were called "land battleships". In the 1930s, the T-35 was the main symbol of Soviet tank power, a real "calling card" of the Red Army and the entire USSR, a decoration of pre-war parades in Moscow and Kiev, a hero of agitprop posters and newspaper editorials. It is depicted on the most honorable Soviet medal - "For Bravery". The T-35 went down in history as the only five-tank tank in the world to be mass-produced (albeit in limited numbers). The vehicle was intended to reinforce tank and rifle formations when breaking through fortified enemy positions. Powerful armament allowed the "thirty-fifth" to fire from two guns and three machine guns forward, backward, on either side, providing a circular fire. However, almost all T-35s were lost in the heaviest battles of the forty-first - in Western Ukraine and during the defense of Kharkov. The Wehrmacht soldiers liked to take pictures on the background of the defeated Russian "miracle weapon". Only one "battleship" survived until today, which is in the exposition of the armored museum in Kubinka (this machine is in full running condition). This fundamental and richly illustrated book by a leading historian of armored vehicles is the most detailed study of the history of creation, design, modifications, service, combat use of the T-35, as well as self-propelled artillery units created on its basis. The 5th edition is supplemented with new archival information and unique photographs.
