Theodore Roosevelt was the 26th President of the United States of America. Suffering from severe illnesses since childhood, he managed to become a physically strong man through persistent exercise and participated in dangerous journeys and even war. Under Roosevelt, the country entered the international arena, declared its foreign policy interests in the framework of the "Monroe Doctrine", and in domestic policy was made the first step to limit the activities of monopolies (the doctrine of the "big stick") and the introduction of certain social guarantees for the population. Not everyone was satisfied with this policy: Roosevelt survived two assassination attempts, as a result of one of them was seriously wounded, but did not change his principles.
