In 1846, a small London publisher published a book entitled "Poems." On the cover were the names of three authors—apparently related: Currer, Ellis, and Acton Bell. Unbeknownst to the reading public, these male names represented the daughters of a country parson, Charlotte, Emily, and Anne Brontë—future celebrated writers whose talents were inspired by the Yorkshire moors. Fate had allotted each of them a short life, yet each managed to leave her mark on literary history: "Jane Eyre," "Wuthering Heights," and "The Tenant of Wildfell Hall"—novels that remain highly popular with readers.

The poetry collection "Poems" marks the very beginning of the creative journey of Charlotte, Emily, and Anne Brontë. Their young, pure voices resonate here, complementing each other, yet each in their own distinctive way. While the sisters' novels are known in Russia in various translations, this collection of poems is the first to be fully translated into Russian. This edition preserves the order in which the texts were published and includes the pseudonyms chosen by the debutantes. The book is illustrated by renowned artists including Edward Coley Burne-Jones, John Atkinson Grimshaw, Evelyn de Morgan, and others.
