The collected works of Lev Rubinstein (1947–2024), a poet and essayist who stood at the origins of Moscow Conceptualism, are an attempt to revisit his legacy and influence on the cultural context of the last fifty years. The author's works are not collected here according to the usual chronological or genre principles: each volume is united by a single theme or concept that permeates his entire oeuvre—poetry, prose, essays, and journalism. The second volume includes texts that address the passage of time, both private and historical: its linear and discrete perception, its cultural and political content. The poetic card indexes included in this volume explore the private and shared experience of time, problems of its illusory nature and finitude. Two formal experiments—the books "A Whole Year." "My Calendar" and "Ticking Line" demonstrate how large and small historical events resonate in specific private lives and how the news feed provides a linguistic snapshot of the modern era. Rubinstein's essays from the 1990s to the 2020s reflect on the changes in language, politics, and social life that the author witnessed and trace their connections to the Soviet past.
