This edition presents for the first time the virtually complete work of Henri Volokhonsky (1936–2017), a poet, translator, and novelist, one of the most significant figures in the unofficial literature of the 1960s and 1970s. Volokhonsky's work is distinguished by "language, an aristocratic sophistication unthinkable in our time, irony bordering on mystification, parodic literary reminiscences… and metaphysical depth" (K. Kuzminsky). The works in the Collection are organized by genre: the first volume includes poetry and drama, the second contains prose and articles, and the third contains translations.
