This edition is an almost complete collection of the Irish saga stories of the Ulster Cycle (or Cuchulin and Conchobar Cycle). The main action of these tales takes place at the turn of our era and is described from the perspective of the northeastern region of Ireland, the so-called Ulidia. The cycle itself was composed presumably in the VIII-IX centuries, but behind it there is a much older world - wars and internecine strife, prophecies of druids and magical songs of poets, ritual feasts, battles with monsters and many other things that made up the material and spiritual culture of pagan Ireland. The translations are accompanied by a detailed commentary. The book is addressed to philologists, historians and all those interested in European culture.
