Arthur Rimbaud (1854–1891) was a French poet, friend of Paul Verlaine, and participant in the Paris Commune uprising, described by Victor Hugo as "a child Shakespeare." Rimbaud wrote for only four years of his 37 years, but during this short time, he created astonishing poetry—the embodiment of freedom and rebellion.

"The Drunken Ship" is a poem rightfully considered one of Arthur Rimbaud's best works, bringing him worldwide fame. It was written by the young poet at the age of 16. It is a song about a ship without a rudder or sails, tossing across the seas and enjoying the freedom of its voyage and the beauty of its changing landscapes.

This collection contains the main body of Rimbaud's poems, including the prose cycles "Illuminations" and "Time in Hell," in various translations.
