Lausaic is the most famous work of Palladius, Bishop of Helenopolis, compiled in the first half of the 5th century. The book tells of the asceticism and way of life of the blessed holy fathers and hermits of Egypt and Palestine. Their exploits are diverse, great and austere. But they are united by one goal - to serve God and people, to save their own souls, to protect them from slavery to sin. The text is reproduced from the edition: Palladius, Bishop of Helenopolis, Lausaic, or Narrative of the Life of the Holy and Blessed Fathers. St. Petersburg, 1873.
