The poem "Queen of the Fairies" was written by Edmund Spencer (c.1552-1599), who, along with Chaucer, Shakespeare and Milton, is one of the greatest English poets. In our edition, the reader is presented with a verse translation of the First and Second Books of E. Spencer’s epic poem “Queen of the Fairies”. Of the 12 Fairy Queens, Spencer wrote only six. Each book is dedicated to one of the most important human virtues. Book I deals with holiness; Book II deals with moderation. The translation into Russian of the first part of the poem was carried out by the recognized master of translation Vladimir Mikushevich (1936-2024). The second part of the poem was translated by the poetess and translator Olga Slavyanka. This is the first translation into Russian of E. Spencer's book II "Queen of the Fairies" in full.

The book is provided with notes, a list of the characters and a summary of all the songs of each book of the poem. In the book you can get acquainted with the biography of the author of the “Queen of Faeries” and the history of the publication of Walter Crane, the author of the best illustrations for the poem. For a wide range of readers.
