Elsa Lasker-Schüler (1869-1945) was a prominent representative of German expressionism in the first half of the 20th century and was closely associated with the Russian artistic avant-garde (Kandinsky, Verevkina, Yavlensky, Burliuk, Chagall), which is reflected in the work of the poet and artist. The bilingual book presents for the first time a complete set of the poetess's lyrical works in the order in which her collections were published. Her work is represented by examples of short prose.
The translation from German is realized as close as possible to the original and is the first step towards the artistic assimilation of the poetess' poetic heritage. The book is accompanied by original drawings by Elsa Lasker-Schüler, whose lyrics reach a biblical scale.
