Rudyard Kipling is a great English poet and writer, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature. Born in British India into the family of a decorator and sculptor, he was sent to England at the age of seven, where he studied at a private boarding school and then at a closed school with paramilitary discipline. At seventeen, he returned to India and began practicing journalism, writing poetry and short stories. Ten years later, Kipling became Britain's most famous writer. His world fame over time far surpassed the popularity in England, where Kipling secured the fame of the singer of the British Empire. In Russia, the work of "Iron Rudyard" has a special attitude and special love, and the best translations of his poems have long been a fact of Russian poetry. In this collection, along with the well-known, classic translations by S. Marshak, K. Simonov, A. Onoshkovich-Yatsyna, modern translations are also presented, which sometimes have a completely different sound and reflect a new view of Rudyard Kipling's work.
