1950… The rapid advance of the DPRK troops is developing successfully, the capital of the pro-American South, Seoul, is captured on the third day of the war and, it would seem, a little more – the North and South of Korea will unite under the leadership of Kim Il Sung. This was not destined to happen due to the full-scale intervention of the USA. On September 15, 1950, the famous Incheon landing operation began, turning the tide of the war for the first time. This book offers an American view of the military actions in 1950-1953. It describes in detail the preparation and conduct of marine landing operations, the organization of interaction between the ground forces, the Air Force and the Navy of the USA, issues of mine defense and some aspects of the blockade of the coast of North Korea. The authors especially dwell on the prospects for the further development of the US Navy in the conditions of the existence of nuclear weapons.
