The book includes two works by the outstanding Soviet psychologist and founder of the national school of experimental pathopsychology B. V. Zeigarnik. The first work is devoted to the disruption of activity, description of forms of disintegration of the motivational sphere and analysis of their patterns, the second - to the disruption of thinking. Psychological study of pathology was not chosen by chance: according to I. P. Pavlov, "studying pathological material, one can sometimes examine such phenomena that cannot be detected in the norm." Therefore, the study of personality disintegration is of great importance both for general issues of psychology and for understanding the nature of mental illnesses and analysis of normal mental activity. The second work includes a large amount of experimental data, statistical material, case histories of specific patients with certain forms of thinking disorders.
