Robert Peary is a famous polar pioneer, who in the early 20th century was named the conqueror of the North Pole by the American Congress and geographical societies of many countries.
Dmitry Shparo, citing little-known American documents, exposes Piri and claims that his major victories - the record of advancement to the north in 1906 and the achievement of the North Pole in 1909. - are fictitious.
