There is a widespread expression in modern spiritual literature: the life is over - the hagiography begins. Meanwhile, the boundary, as if inevitably arising from the collision of two similar words: life and hagiography, is not always drawn, not in all saintly destinies. In the fate of Matushka Ambrosia (Oberucheva) it does not seem necessary to separate the way in the world from the way of monasticism, existence in freedom from wandering in exile, because her fate has an exceptional inner wholeness. Her monasticism had been endured through her previous life in the world, and the experience of suffering and compassion gained in freedom helped her to endure her imprisonment. Matushka Ambrosia, Alexandra Dmitrievna Oberucheva, a nun and a doctor, wrote the story of her "long life", for her, of course, only life, and, perhaps, that is why there is so much hope that before us - the real hagiography. The book is based on her diaries, which she kept all her life and selected, put in order, and completed at the request of her loved ones shortly before her death.
