Vladimir Valutsky (1936–2015) is the author of scripts for many films beloved by the audience ("Yaroslavna, Queen of France", "The King of Blackmail", "Death Fight" and "Tiger Hunt" about the adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, "Mary Poppins, Goodbye!" and others). However, at the end of his life, he said: The work of a screenwriter is by nature nervous. It is much easier and more pleasant to compose unhurried prose. In fact, she always attracted me and seduced me, and in between filmmakers I wrote something.
Winter Cherry (1985) is one of the most popular melodramas in Russian cinema. The film, which sold 32 million tickets, is based on a novel of the same name. “Slow prose” about the love of ordinary people, Vadim and Olga, is written with invariable light sadness for Valutsky, soft humor and sympathy for the heroes. If two people love each other, if they feel so good together as not to invent... It's easier than two and two, right? Vadim has a family, and Olga is not sure that an affair with a married man will bring her happiness. Are the rules of simple arithmetic applicable to their history?
