"Riders from Nowhere". Soviet polar explorers working in Antarctica first stumble upon an atypical ice sheet and then encounter their doppelgangers, who disappear after a while. Soon they discover a downed American airplane. Its pilot tells them that he was attacked by pink "clouds" - gaseous objects of a reddish hue that move quickly regardless of the wind. To confront these aliens, or, as they have been called, the "horsemen of nowhere," all of humanity unites.
"Paradise Without Memory." The heroes of "Riders of Nowhere," Soviet polar explorer Yuri Anokhin and American pilot Donald Martin, find themselves in a strange place where people are completely out of touch with the experience of modern humanity. Remembering how the pink "clouds" created copies of people and objects, Anokhin and Martin guess that the place they've gotten to is not Earth at all. But they find friends here and help them, among other things, to acquire skills that their creators did not give them. "The Silver Option". Anokhin and Martin again find themselves on the "cloned Earth" and meet their old acquaintances from "Paradise Without Memory", though here it's been fifty years. Their friends are now elderly and significant others, but they still need the Earthlings' help just as much. The trilogy of Alexander and Sergei Abramov - the highest level of fiction, which combines and scientific accuracy, and the brightness of the images, and the fascination of the plot.
