Lida, a marine geologist, works at a research institute in St. Petersburg, Russia, and one day embarks on a month-long expedition to the Arctic to study the ocean floor. She has to organize her life in a small cabin on a huge ship, among unfamiliar and often not the closest in spirit people. The very stay here is perceived as a challenge, and the most routine activities become a daily adventure.

"Eightieth Degree" - the story of human strength and weakness, the ability to remain himself and adjust to circumstances: during the expedition, the reader together with the heroine will realize that one does not exclude the other.
