This story is familiar to everyone. A king killed in a wicked way. A usurper slowly going mad. A legitimate heir forced into hiding. Three scary witches who gather for sabbaths, utter terrible prophecies and laugh ominously over their cauldrons…
Very entertaining, if you forget that everything was completely different.
Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg and Magrat Garlic are witches. They live peacefully in a mountain kingdom, occasionally gather for sabbaths to drink tea, and do not think of prophesying (although Nanny is happy to laugh at a good joke). They do not bother any kings, even when their own is killed under extremely suspicious circumstances. They had to save the little prince (that's how it happened), but they placed him in the safe hands of traveling actors. That's all.
However, the usurper has a different opinion on this matter. He is diligently ruining the life of the small coven, and this makes his members very angry. And it is better not to mess with an evil witch...
