In terms of his genuine popularity among Soviet readers in the second half of the 20th century, Yuri Nagibin can hardly be compared to anyone else. There were fashionable writers, there were authoritative ones, there were semi-banned ones, but Nagibin was simply popular — his books were snapped up from the shelves, people tried to imitate his heroes, they reveled in his style... Yuri Nagibin's popularity reached its peak at the very end of the 1980s — beginning of the 90s. But it turned out to be of a different kind. At that time, masks were torn off, skeletons were taken out of closets. Nagibin was no exception. Only he tore off the mask himself and took out all the skeletons himself. And he did it as a true creator — in his works. This edition includes two autobiographical stories by Yuri Nagibin, "Get Up and Go" and "Darkness at the End of the Tunnel".
