Three girls look up from an old photograph: chintz sundresses, dusty feet in broken sandals. They are cheerful and carefree, the way only children are when you don't know what lies ahead.
Years fly fast - and now a not very young woman is looking at this photo, longing for her youth, for unfulfilled hopes, for sincere friendship, when they believed in fervent vows, when they had no doubt that they were ready for each other in fire and water, when for the sake of love they did crazy things, for which they paid all their lives, and sometimes - their very lives. Each of the three girls in the photo passionately dreamed of happiness. And all three had their own way of disposing of their fate, because everyone's happiness is different.
