This album introduces the jewelry that formed part of Russian folk costume. The publication draws from the collection of the Russian Ethnographic Museum (St. Petersburg). The museum's collection includes jewelry from the 18th to 20th centuries worn by peasants in the Russian North, Northwest, Central Russia, the southern and southwestern regions, the Volga region, the Urals, and Siberia.
The book showcases unique neck, chest, and back jewelry of various shapes and designs, crafted using various techniques and materials. Techniques described include beli embroidery, goldwork, embroidery, stringing, weaving, and others. Most of the items are published for the first time. Elena Madlevskaya's album "Russian Folk Jewelry" won the "Best Book about Russia" category in the all-Russian competition of the Russian Book Publishers Association "Best Books of the Year 2016." In 2017, the album "Russian Folk Jewelry" won a diploma at the annual national competition "Book of the Year 2017" in the category "Preserved Russia."
