The book tells about porcelain shapes and the history of porcelain in Latvia and Europe from the end of the 19th century until the beginning of the Soviet Union, with special attention to the production of Latvian manufacturers and how it corresponded to what was happening in Europe. The main focus of the work is on the Latvian factories of Kuznetsov and Jessen. It contains more than 70 different shapes made in the factories of M.S. Kuznetsov and J.K. Jessen, as well as their originals, captured in more than 350 photographs. The work also contains information about trading houses in Latvia and porcelain decorators (such as AG Kunst-Keramik, J.Jaksch, Raeder, Trofimov, Spunde, VK, etc.), as well as the distribution of J.K. Jessen products during the tsarist period and the trading houses that distributed these products (such as Comte Harrach, Z.Osinski, Velikanov, etc.).
