Milorad Pavić is a Serbian novelist, dubbed by critics as the first writer of the 21st century. His collection of short stories, "Russian Greyhound," is imbued with magical realism and mysticism.

The pages of this book contain stories that will haunt you for a long time. A boy will be killed by a song about a ring, a noose, and a balalaika, though he will never hear it. At the Peter and Paul Fortress, a bullet will fly from Thursday to Wednesday. After dining with the dead, the author will emerge from the restaurant into another writer's story. A grandson will meet his grandfather after his death. The hero will attempt to poison a former friend using mirrors in an antique bureau. And you yourself will become responsible for the death of one of the characters.

If you show a little curiosity, you will discover a hidden story in the collection. Two stories are "secretly connected." The question posed in one is answered in the other. A little hint from Pavic: one of the stories is called "Warsaw Corner," and the question posed in another is: "And someone is now taking my memories and making them their own?" After reading these two stories, you'll decipher the twentieth story.

This collection also contains a secret chapter from the novel "The Writing Box" and references to the novels "The Inner Side of the Wind" and "Another Body."
