Eleven-year-old Lev has been bedridden for several weeks. Kato, a smart and somewhat reclusive girl, visits him to give him his homework. An invisible bond develops between the teenagers, which becomes a source of support for both.

Years pass. Kato leaves Romania for the West. Lev is left with only childhood memories and the postcards the heroine sent him from various European cities.

But one day, he receives a message from Zurich with a single phrase: "When will you arrive?"

The novel skillfully and poetically tells the story of eternal friendship and liberation from the oppression of one's origins. A touching journey into the past, glimpses of which will warm the characters' hearts years later.
