The story "Get Used to the Light" is a literary, artistic continuation of the most famous documentary book by Maša Rolnikaite (1927-2016) - "I Must Tell", the diaries that she kept in 1941-1945, first in the Jewish ghetto of Vilnius occupied by the Nazis, and then in the concentration camps of Latvia and Poland. Literary in the sense that it is still fiction, and the heroine of "Get Used to the Light" Nora is not Masha herself, despite the autobiographical nature of the book. Nora did not end up in the Vilnius ghetto - she managed to hide and survive the raids. Then began long years of wandering and living in shelters: the Jewish girl was hidden by Lithuanians, risking their lives. And then, after the liberation of Lithuania from occupation, Nora returned to her hometown. It was quick and easy - a few hours of shaking in a train carriage. But now she faced a new, difficult and long journey - a new life.life.
