Diaries and memoirs of Anna Feodorovna Tyutcheva, who spent almost 13 years at the court of Nicholas I and Alexander II (1853-1866), belong to the best examples of Russian memoirism. These are the most valuable sources on the history of Russia in the XIX century. The eldest daughter of the great Russian poet F.I. Tyutchev surpassed the intelligence and education of many people in his entourage, had her own view of the most important events of that era and was not afraid to declare it. The exceptional position of a close and trusted person of the Empress gave Tyutcheva the opportunity to be aware of all the events at court. The strictest secrets, including alcoves, no matter how well they were concealed, are reflected in the pages of her diary and memoirs. It's hard to say what is most interesting about her notes. There are stories to suit every taste.
