The hero of this narrative was not too lucky in the memory of his fellow citizens. The closest associate of Stalin, who held the highest state and party positions, he was involved in all the most important events and processes of the era. After the death of the leader, G.M. Malenkov headed the Soviet Union as Chairman of the Council of Ministers. "Practical worker, the executor of any assignments" - so one day Malenkov will characterize Stalin, but at the same time disparagingly referred to his theoretical level. Lack of proficiency in Marxist-Leninist theory, apparently, and allowed Malenkov to put forward in 1953 a set of ideas, perceived by many as a new course of domestic and foreign policy of the USSR. In the mid-1950s, however, he would lose the intra-party struggle to Khrushchev, be suspended from government and party service, expelled from the CPSU, and his political activities would be relegated to the shadows. Khrushchev will make heavy accusations against him. The author tried to look at the history of life and mainly the activities of this man through the prism of available today archival documents, still little involved in scientific and public circulation. The events of the life of an individual and the events of the historical era intertwined so closely that the biographical study promises to add new knowledge about the time, society and the state in which the hero of this book lived and worked. The roots of the reality that surrounds us are in that era. That is why it is interesting, as the author hopes, not only for historians, but also for a wide range of readers.
