Konstantin Zarubin (b. 1979) - prose writer, publicist. He grew up in the town of Slantsy, Leningrad region. Studied languages, linguistics, philosophy. Teaches English at Dalarna University (Sweden). Lives in Uppsala. A scientist from St. Petersburg was found dead in Helsinki. While sorting through his books, a local bookseller's assistant discovers the materials of a strange investigation. Someone long and vainly searches for a mysterious collection of fiction, which appeared in the eighties here and there throughout the USSR. This book was read by very different people in different languages, and their lives changed in surprising, sometimes fatal, ways. And it seems that the time of inexplicable events is not over yet. The authors of the collection "Stories of L writers" are still among us. "The novel by Konstantin Zarubin revives the belief that books can be magical. And it also suggests that post-Soviet nostalgia can be ruthlessly honest. Without the self-delusion of a lost paradise. And this book is about the future, too. It offers a timid hope to those who despair in their search for the meaning of life on Earth." Julia Gumen
