Turkey, Büyükada Island, 2017. One sunny summer morning, the family members of renowned artist Shirin Saka gather to celebrate her centenary. This feast should be a time of memories dear to their hearts, given the celebrant's long prolific career and nearly a century of life experience, but it is overshadowed by the memory of a time of violent ethnic clashes in the part of the country where the artist spent her childhood.
In the polyphonic novel by contemporary Turkish writer Defne Suman, the parallel voices of the characters develop several themes that come to a climax during the centennial celebration of the work's main and oldest character.
