"After the Storm" is the final installment of Swedish writer Fredrik Backman's trilogy about two small hockey towns - Bjornstad and Hede. It is a continuation of the already favorite novels "Bear Corner" and "Us Against You", which have already become readers' favorites. It is a social-psychological novel, the main action of which is set in the once prosperous Bjornstad. Two years have passed since the events that took place in Us vs. You. Maya Anderson and Benji Ovich return home. They see how the mood of the town's residents has changed: a new ice palace on the lakeside gives them hope for a bright future. However, the opposing hockey teams - Bjornstad and Heda - have not forgotten old grudges. Their rivalry goes beyond the hockey field and spills out onto the streets of the two towns, leading to a new wave of violence. Fourteen-year-old Matteo hates hockey and athletes more and more - he believes that they are to blame for his sister's death. His impulsive desire for revenge leads to a new tragedy that the inhabitants of both towns will have to live with.
