If Leonid Yakubovich is only the longtime host of the show "Field of Miracles" on Channel One or "that mustachioed guy from TV handing out cars," then this book will be a pleasant discovery.
After reading this largely autobiographical book, you'll discover that Leonid Arkadyevich is a master of getting into awkward situations and also a master of extricating himself brilliantly. He's also a wonderful storyteller, possessing a terrific sense of humor and a masterful command of words. This updated edition includes new stories by Leonid Arkadyevich that will tell you the whole truth about what it's like to be Yakubovich. He tells them so easily and directly, as if you were hearing them all while sipping tea in the same kitchen with the author. His first helicopter flight and annoying journalists, trips to Chechnya, friendly pranks with Gennady Khazanov, all the successful and less-than-successful attempts to find his way—there's so much that hasn't happened in the life of this universally adored presenter, talented actor, and wonderful person.
