Few people know about him, although most have heard that there was such a healer or doctor who helped and still mysteriously helps people who are sick or suffering from various ailments, especially during periods of worldwide pandemics. The icon of Panteleimon the Healer, with few exceptions, is in every Orthodox church. This was previously the case in the West, although Europeans believe less and less in miracles. Still, the threat of previously unknown viruses encourages the inhabitants of the planet to be more attentive to the heritage of the Christian civilization of Europe, especially in such an important matter as treatment or medicine. The hero of this book, St. Panteleimon the Healer, was one of those who at the turn of the III-IV centuries, having inherited the best achievements of ancient medicine, did not deal only with the treatment of the patient, but strove for his complete cure.
The book by the famous historian and writer Konstantin Kovalev-Sluchevsky tells about the life and experience of a man who with sincere intentions committed many good deeds, but in the end undeservedly recognized as guilty in the confession of his faith. It is a continuation of the author's books "Nicholas the Wonderworker" and "St. George the Victorious", the heroes of which lived at the same time as the healer Panteleimon.
