Bruno Bear and his dog Lolla are the heroes of 4 picture books created by the contemporary Swedish artist Gunilla Ingves. Each book is dedicated to one of the seasons - winter, spring, summer and fall - and describes a day in the life of the characters, filled with activities and entertainment "in season". Fall is a busy time for Bruno the bear and Lolla the dog. They harvest crops, make supplies for winter, rake fallen leaves into piles, prepare seeds for future crops, and cook pumpkin soup and bake apple pie. The main story of the book is "framed" by notes from the diary of Mishka Bruno's observations. They contain a lot of sketches and informative information from the natural world of a certain time of the year. The first diary spread is devoted to winter preparations: how to dry sunflower seeds and make apple rings. The second spread will tell you why leaves turn yellow and how hedgehogs, garden snails and other animals prepare for hibernation. The books in the Bruno Bear series can be called a practical encyclopedia of the seasons for children ages 3-6. With delicate pastel-colored illustrations, lots of details to look at on every page and charming main characters.
