The reader's attention is invited to the continuation of the first ever specialized printed work devoted to the armament of the Russian army during the First World War. This book, as well as the previous one, is written primarily from the point of view of those who had to fight with these weapons - soldiers and officers of the Russian army of the early twentieth century. It is the first time in Russian practice that an attempt to describe this kind of weapon has been made. Thanks to this, the book will be useful to specialist historians, costume designers, military-historical reconstructors, as well as anyone interested in the history of the Russian army of 1914-1917. The second book of the series tells about machine guns, automatic rifles, pistols and revolvers, both those in service with the Russian army in 1914-1917 and those not officially in service, but used by the troops: obsolete domestic and foreign systems, purchased from the Allies or captured as trophies. A special place in the book is taken by the description of experimental automatic weapon systems, without which the reader's idea of the level of development of domestic weapon-technical thought of the early twentieth century would be incomplete. For each model described in the book is given a brief history of its creation and adoption into service, highlighted the main changes to which the system was subjected in the continuation of its release. Much attention is paid to the use of the weapon in the troops, its advantages and disadvantages in the eyes of the soldier. For the first time in domestic practice, items of the material part of machine guns, in particular, machine tools, wagons and pack aids are described in great detail. Unique is the information given in the book about flare guns and special means. The book was written with extensive use of archival materials, as well as published sources from the early twentieth century, mainly special and technical literature, which are now very rare. The book is provided with extensive illustrative material from both museum collections and private collections. Much of the information contained in the book is published for the first time.
