About the art of oratory
9.99 €
This collection includes two of Cicero's treatises on rhetoric: "On the Orator" and "The Orator."

In Cicero's philosophy, close to Stoicism, the very idea of oratory is inextricably linked to the personal and civic qualities of the ideal orator—the "true Roman," courageous and unyielding in the face of danger, and who values republican virtues above all else.

As for the form of these works, their contemporaries already recognized their impeccable perfection, and in later times Cicero was (and still is) considered the finest stylist of ancient Roman literature.
