In his political treatise "On the State", Marcus Tullius Cicero developed ideas about three forms of government - monarchy, aristocracy and democracy, analyzing their advantages and disadvantages.

The treatise is written in the traditional form of dialogue for ancient philosophy with references to Plato's "Republic".
Marcus Tullius Cicero also wrote a philosophical treatise "On Laws", devoted to theoretical issues of law and state and conceived as a continuation of the treatise "On the State".

This collection also includes a letter from Marcus Tullius Cicero's brother Quintus "Brief Instructions for the Candidate", which was recently published in the USA under the current title "How to Win Elections".
