Stig Dagerman (1923 -1954) - author of novels, plays, poems and short stories, the idol of a whole generation of Scandinavians. His novels "The Snake" (1945) and "Island of the Doomed" (1946) made the young writer an iconic figure of literary Sweden. However, Dagerman worked all his life and as a journalist, creating articles, reports, reviews and poems on the evil of the day for the syndicalist newspaper "Worker". In 1946, the newspaper "Expressen" offered Dagerman to go to Germany and write travel notes about the post-war life of the country. They aroused such interest that they were published as a separate book in 1947. This edition is supplemented by several program texts by Stig Dagerman from the war and post-war period.
