This edition represents the first publication of a handwritten diary from 1917, which belonged to the Moscow collector A.V. Severilov. The diary and its 27 photographs from the front belonged to Grigory Evgenievich Artynov (1897-1941), a law student at the Imperial Moscow University and a young man of noble birth who found himself in the thick of the First World War and the Revolution. The manuscript's pages, through the events of the young officer's life, reveal the face of the capital during this complex and eventful year. This book will be of interest to historians, cultural scholars, Moscow scholars, archivists, and anyone interested in studying unique documents from past eras.
