The beginning of the alternative 2000s. A conflict is boiling in the heart of Russia, which is about to spill over the country's borders: official Tatarstan is breaking off relations with Moscow, UN observers and NATO auxiliary forces are arriving. The parties are starting a confrontation that involves strategic technologies, economic pressure and manipulation of public opinion through the media. But there is another force, unnoticed at first. And how this story ends depends largely on it.

"World" is the debut novel by two-time winner of the "Big Book" award Shamil Idiatullin. The novel was first published in 2004.
