Nadia, a girl suffering from autism, does not find her place in life until she discovers the world of music. An unusually gifted pianist, she does not seek fame and tries to escape from her painful reality through music. Like some people with Asperger's syndrome, Nadia strives to "organize" the world in her head and mentally compiles lists of various kinds: for example, a list of deceased pianists in her hometown or a list of students in a non-existent class. Gradually, these lists creep into her life, mysteriously intertwining and influencing the fate of Nadia and the people around her.
The novel "Dead Pianists" is about the loneliness of the "man in himself". About his fictional dead world, which comes to life, mixing with reality. About the fact that we are all a little "man-in-itself".
