To the attention of readers is offered a fundamental multivolume reference manual on mechanisms in modern engineering, authored by the outstanding Soviet scientist-mechanic I.I.Artobolevsky. In the selection of mechanisms are given mainly schemes and descriptions of mechanisms of general purpose, or mechanisms used in a variety of branches of mechanical engineering. Separate mechanisms of target, branch direction were also included in the reference book as being of interest not only for this narrow branch, but also for other branches of mechanical engineering.
