In the mid-1920s, actress Lotta Lenya (real name - Karolina Wilhelmina Charlotte Blamauer) meets her future husband, composer Kurt Weill, under whose guidance she polishes her skills and in 1928 plays the role of the pirate Jenny in Bertolt Brecht's "The Threepenny Opera", which becomes the starting point in her artistic career.
Relying on documentary and epistolary material, Eva Nice gives a cross-section of the vibrant and diverse cultural life of Germany on the eve of World War II. The author subtly and emotionally tells the story of Lotta Lenya, who was associated with many famous people in the theater and music world of her time and conquered her contemporaries with a voice that was special in timbre and expressiveness.
