Bruno Bear and his dog Lolla are the heroes of 4 picture books created by the contemporary Swedish artist Gunilla Ingves. Each book is dedicated to one of the seasons - winter, spring, summer and fall - and describes a day in the life of the characters, filled with activities and entertainment "in season". In the book "Bruno Bear's Summer," the bear and the dog work in the vegetable garden from morning: weeding, watering, fertilizing the beds, cutting the grass. After work they go to the river, swim, watch for waterflies and floating beetles, then pick raspberries in the forest and even find a snakeskin on the path. And in the evening, the friends receive guests and set the table in the garden. The main story of the book is "framed" by notes from Mishka Bruno's observation diary. They contain a lot of sketches and informative information from the world of nature at certain times of the year. The first diary spread of "Bruno Bear's Summer" is devoted to gardening: how to prepare fertilizer from nettles, where it is better to cut grass and why earthworms are needed. The second spread is devoted to migratory birds, insects and reptiles, which can be found in summer in our strip. Books from the Bruno Bears series can be called a practical encyclopedia of the seasons for children aged 3-6. With delicate illustrations in pastel colors, lots of details to look at on every page and charming main characters.
