A lot has been written about lasers, but there are practically no books that would deal with the subject of laser cosmetology "from" and "to". We decided to correct this, and in the new edition we have collected all the information that will be useful to specialists - both those already working with light technologies and those just starting out. The book "LASERS IN PRACTICE OF COSMETOLOGIST AND DERMATOLOGIST" is devoted to modern laser and photo-technologies and examines in detail the whole range of questions concerning the use of high-energy devices, but also low-intensity laser devices. The book consists of three parts. The first, theoretical, part explains what a laser is and how it works. The main parameters of laser exposure - all the important nuances that will affect the effectiveness and safety of procedures - are discussed in detail. A separate chapter is devoted to the interaction of laser radiation with the skin - targets and mechanisms of laser exposure, the possibilities of selective and non-selective photothermolysis. Also in this part the features of the technology of intense laser light (IPL), low-intensity laser exposure (LILI) and photodynamic therapy (PDT) are considered. The second part is devoted to practical issues - specific possibilities of light and photographic technologies. The whole range of aesthetic and dermatocosmetologic problems in which the use of lasers and IPL-devices gives significant results is considered. These are laser rejuvenation, laser removal of skin formations, correction of vascular and pigment defects, scars, therapy of acne, psoriasis and onychomycosis, as well as removal of tattoos, unwanted hair (epilation) and fat deposits (laser lipolysis). In addition, this part discusses the current understanding of the combination of laser and injectable procedures (in particular, contouring), as well as the possibility of using lasers for transdermal delivery of active ingredients. The part concludes with a separate chapter on complications of laser procedures and ways to reduce the risks of their occurrence. The third part deals with organizational aspects - measures to ensure safe operation, as well as the choice of laser devices in the clinic. And the latter issue is considered not only from the medical side, but also from the business point of view - recommendations are given on the optimal equipment of different institutions, ranging from small cosmetology centers and beauty salons to large medical centers of expert class. The book is part of a series of books "My Specialty - Cosmetology", covering the most relevant topics of modern cosmetology and aesthetic medicine. All books are characterized by a clear structure, written in accessible language and answer the key questions of the problem or technology under consideration. The book is intended for cosmetologists, dermatologists, physiotherapists, plastic surgeons, students of medical universities, specialists working with light and photographic technologies, as well as all interested parties.
