The career of Larisa Shepitko (1938-1979) was cut short at the very height of her life. But four feature films were enough for her to enter the pantheon of classics of Russian and world cinema. In this book from the series "Session. Faces" film historian and director Oleg Kovalov consistently talks about each of Shepitko's films (including a short novel from the film almanac "The Beginning of the Invisible Age" and a little-known New Year's Eve TV show "At the Thirteenth Hour of Night") and gives original interpretations of her work. The book is supplemented by a digest of Shepitko's interviews and speeches.
